First and foremost, this is not a typical “LipSense is amazing! Buy it! Sign up under me so I can make money!” post. This is my honest review of how I came to try LipSense, and what my experience with it has been like. Please read to the end! But first, let me give you some background info. When it came to planning my wedding make-up look, my husband had two firm requests: first, that my make-up looked natural, so I would still look like me. The second request was that I not wear lipstick that would end up all over his face. I mean, can you blame him? It’s adorable when a little kid gets Grandma’s lipstick on his cheek, but imagine having to wipe that off over and over after every kissy picture! Not to mention having to re-apply it to the bride, because it all ended up on other people’s faces. Not so fun. I had heard of LipSense before I got married and knew that a lot of girls liked how long-lasting and smudge proof it was. But thinking of spending $55 for a starter set made me woozy—especially when I had never tried it before and did not know where I could see the colors in person (it seems like colors are always different than they look online). I have a very pink skin tone, red hair and blue eyes, so I always have to be careful about what color I add to that mix so that I don’t end up looking like a clown! Anyways, I ended up going for a knock off I found at Walmart that also professed to be long-lasting and smudge-proof, but it cost less than $10 and I could hold it up to my face to make sure it wasn’t going to clash with anything. Ladies, this is the NUMBER ONE thing that I wish I had done differently for my wedding look. Although the Walmart lipstick professed to be amazing, it crackled and started to flake off after a mere few hours. On my wedding day, when I had enough to worry about already, I was worried about how my lips were looking and had to be super careful when I ate (and then had to re-apply it anyways). I wish I had taken the plunge and bought the LipSense! I started using LipSense the beginning of this year and have not looked back. It is completely smudge proof—even ask my husband, who attempted to smear it the first time I wore some and his finger came off with nothing! It lasts all day and it doesn’t come off when I eat, drink, or kiss my hubby. Then I got to thinking, how great would it be if brides could see all the colors in person? That way they could pick a color they know goes well with their coloring, as well as going with the look they are planning for their wedding day. That is why I now offer LipSense at my boutique, where brides can see all the gorgeous shades of smudge-proof lip color in person! Comments are closed.
